Gain Plate

Gain Plate with Curved Face eliminates need of cutting gain into pole. Back is curved and smooth (no spurs). Slotted hole allows for proper alignment.

Description

Teeth and integral ribs provide increased stability and resistance to movement both with and across the wood grain. Strengthens bolt connections and helps resist slotting of the bolt hole by distributing the load over larger wood area. Curved back provides smooth interface with large pole diameter range. Flat side increases stability of mounted crossarms.

Application:  

The gain plate (between a pole and a crossarm) and the reinforcing plate (on the outside of an arm) provide additional metal bearing surface for transfer of the vertical load from the crossarm to the crossarm mounting bolt. The gain plate eliminates a potential decay area between two wood contact areas. A reinforcing plate, also called a ribbed tie plate, will prevent the crossarm from splitting or checking when the nut is tightened.
